Laugh lines, or indentations on either side of the face around the mouth, usually affect middle- and older-aged people. However, younger people can also develop the deep wrinkles because they are caused by many factors. From heredity, lack of sleep, poor diet or skin composition and elasticity, there are just as many ways to eliminate the wrinkles in order to make the face appear younger and smoother.You want to look young but you can’t because of the lines all over your face. Laugh lines, deep wrinkles, frown lines – whatever you choose to call them – add numbers to your age. Laugh lines are caused by different factors, like your skin being exposed to the sun. If you find them embarrassing, don’t worry, because there are ways to eliminate them and make your face look smoother and younger once again.
Exercises to get rid of frown and laugh lines:
- Play the trumpet: Take a deep breath through your mouth and hold the air in your mouth as if you were about to play the trumpet. Try holding on to this pose for 30-60 seconds. Breathe out through your nose. Laugh lines and saggy cheeks are tackled with this pose.
- Place index fingers of both hands above the skin of inside corner of both eyebrows and press lightly. Now pull eyebrows tightly together as if you are frowning. If your fingers are placed correctly they will prevent formation of vertical folds and create resistance needed for exercise.
- Place your fingertips over your laugh lines and apply firm pressure. Smile as widely as you can with your lips separated. Hold this position for about five seconds and then relax. Try to do 30 repetitions. Smiling under resistance will strengthen the cheek muscles and minimizing the laugh lines around your mouth.
- Pucker your lips and try to lift them upward toward the tip of your nose. Hold this position for about five seconds and then release. Repeat it 5 to 10 times several times a day for toned mouth muscles.
Tips to get rid of frown and laugh lines:
- Natural treatments are also available. Get fresh aloe vera gel from the leaf and apply lightly to the face. Or one can mash avocado pulp and apply to the face for 20 minutes, for extra vitamin E antioxidants and protection from the sun. Use papaya, whose enzymes can reduce the appearance of laugh lines. Oatmeal can be mixed into avocado and papaya to help exfoliate. Ripe bananas and honey can be applied to the face for 10 minutes to firm the skin.

- To add firmness in your skin you may apply a mixture of banana and honey over your face. This will also make your skin to glow.
